I cannot believe i have watched something with Ruth Jones in that I actually hate her character… I get it by the ending but still. The entire series was amazing. I have watched many historical programmes and honestly the plainness of the show after binging (ie Bridgerton) just is so refreshing and so good! It feels so much more natural and realistic. I’ve seen many say they don’t like it because the entire lot of actors/actresses are not on the level of looking like Bridgerton characters. And that’s fine these all feel like I’ve watched real people fall in love not just actors… 10/10 and I would binge entirely again and again. By far one of the top faves of a P&P world of works.
I can't describe how much I love this show. The best work after the 2005 movie. I love everything about it, how real it is, how normal the characters are and most importantly how they look extremely normal and equal to real life. I love how I feel watching it. Happy, sad, angry, everything. I hope it never ends.
This feels more like badly written self-insert fanfic than a genuine adaption with respect for the world and characters from the source material. It feels like the author hasn’t even read the book.
I was looking forward to this show and it did not dissapoint. I haven't read the book yet (I will now) but I loved how this series managed to keep in line with the Jane Austen voice & still bring us a fresh story. The actors are wonderful, the costumes, the setting, the pacing, ... I freaking loved it! The chemistry between charachters was on point. One of the best things I have seen in years. Great also to see actors who can still act and don't look like one face because of cosmetic 'touches'.
Absolutely wonderful. One of the best historical period dramas I've seen! All the praise I've heard about this is rightly deserved. Watch it! You will not be disappointed.
