Bae Seok Ryu siempre ha sido una persona destacada y llena de energía. Después de graduarse de la universidad, fue contratada por un gran conglomerado global como directora de proyectos. Sin embargo, un incidente en su trabajo la lleva a renunciar y quedarse desempleada, enfrentándose a una crisis personal. No solo es casi perfecto como arquitecto, sino que también es muy atractivo y tiene una gran personalidad. Desde que sus madres se hicieron amigas cuando tenían cuatro años, ambos han compartido muchas experiencias, incluyendo momentos embarazosos que Seung Hyo quiere borrar de su vida. Ahora, ya adultos, sus caminos se cruzan de nuevo cuando Seok Ryu, tratando de reiniciar su vida defectuosa, reaparece en la pacífica vida de Seung Hyo.

When I give a 10 rating it’s usually because I can’t think of anything that is missing. This story is multifaceted. (I learned things.) The casting is spectacular. The performances are captivating. I loved the multigenerational stories that were told, the friend group and the dynamics in the different families. I loved that the people weren’t perfect and yet somehow fit together. I give this series a 10 (perfect) out of 10.
When the show was announced i was really excited because of the cast and then pre-release videos showed insane chemistry between Hae-in and So-min almost felt like we have another Song-Song couple or Hyunbin-SonYeJin but its a pity the story doesn't live upto to expectations .. it wasn't a stress free plot ; the romance never felt like it had any hurdles but it was missing something that "Our Beloved Summer" for high school friends to lovers has ... the secondary couple wasn't interesting as well despite Mo-eum being a badass Dan-ho felt like a wimpy .. the parents had their character development .. the ex-lovers are very very graceful for a korean show . Overall its a big disappointment ; you could almost watch the good moments in Twitter/TikTok and never watch the entire show to understand the plot and still be satisfied i.e to say the show could be wrapped in 180min movies instead of 16hrs mini series ; but i will still rate this high due to my bias to lead actors.
It took me awhile to get to the last two episodes of this, but I’m glad I did because the last two episodes are actually the best ones. The family element and seeing those conflicts resolve was much more interesting. The main leads, though both great actors and had pretty good chemistry as friends, had abysmal chemistry as lovers. Which is insane because the male lead normally has electric chemistry with pretty much everyone he works with. Unfortunately, their romance just felt very artificial and lacking. The story overall is sweet. I’m glad there was some good emotional payoff for all of the storylines in the end. Probably could have been a 12 episode show.
It was fun, it was cute and the whole cast had fantastic chemistry, but the plot got repetitive at times. Still, if you're looking for a feel good show with a good dose of chaos and laughs, Love Next Door is a solid choice. Seung Hyo gave strong Ryu Sun Jae vibes, from the adorable simping to the way he was always looking at the FL with love in his eyes. I'll be going back and watching other things Jung Hae In has been in now.
