The daughter of a former Hooter's waitress and an ex-pro wrestler, Margo is a recent college dropout and aspiring writer. Faced with a new baby, mounting pile of bills, and dwindling number of ways to pay them, Margo must find a way forward.


[Apple tv] The adaptation offers a bittersweet comedy about the need to adapt to circumstances and confront moral prejudices. The script relies on the most common clichés of the "women who break social norms" subgenre and addresses some relevant themes somewhat superficially, but it works thanks to the extraordinary performances. However, it ultimately leans towards drama surrounding a legal dispute reminiscent of David E. Kelley's early legal dramas and ends up feeling like a story written with an outdated narrative style.
