What started as a good show slowly turned into another generic Netflix offering. The whole favela sub-plot just felt like padding to get the show to 7 episodes. Nonsense double crosses too. Just stick to the film or read the book.

Another remake of old film. But I do like this version of Man on Fire. Instead of rewriting unnecessary storylines, it stickedto the core story which was in the original film. This version expanded the story logically without Hollywood's cult teaching coz Hollywood loves money and demonic cult don't sell sh1t no more. However, this version has a heavier political injection material, such as CIA's involvement in foreign countries' election, leadership and policies. All actors did their job very good, if not excellent. The biggest changes is the character Lupita Ramos played by the very young Dakota Fanning with Por Rayburn played by Billie Boullet who are older. I could accept thus changes since a 7 episodes of theatrical action series would be very punishing to very young actors. Plus. Ms Bullet did deliver her charms as an eager to explore life teenager. Special mention also for Bobby Cannavale's acting to deliver fatherly and friendship loyalty values that trigger the event. Yahya Abdul-Matern II wisely chose to deliver Creasy far from Denzel's delivery. Different visualization of PTSD and projecting emotions through minor facial expressions. He does have the talents of acting. The result is the same John Creasy we love and yet it's John Creasy that we get familiar with even further. Highly recommended. It's better than expected.

It started fine, then the Poe girl was utterly infuriating. I had to drop it before I ended up hurting myself or others.

Lacks the edge of the seat experience as the main character John Greasy is shown facing war trauma. Episode 2 & 3 are too slow but pick up the pace in the episode 6 & 7. Overall, a one time watch.
