I just finished the first 3 episodes and this is unmistakably a Taylor Sheridan show. Only he can write a Western-themed story that commands you to stare at the screen it’s playing on and forget every other screen around you. What an absolute champion. Right from the start, we’re treated to those sweeping landscapes that make you yearn for country life. Then come the strong female protagonists who are feminine to the core, yet still carry undeniable main-character energy. Unlike Yellowstone and Landman, though, the characters here feel more grounded. The central story arc grows out of a tragedy, which gives the whole narrative a weight that pulls you in straight away. If you’re deciding whether to watch The Marshals or The Madison, and you consider yourself a Taylor Sheridan fan, my bet is that this one will be a very satisfying watch. Onwards and upwards! :cowboy:

I try to avoid Sheridan's work but he's everywhere and I told myself I'd give this a chance because of Michelle. Beautiful scenery. I guess if you're of a certain demographic you're going to absolutely love this. Pilot episode was great, then it went downhill for me with all those pretentious moments and characters. So basically it's city = bad, countryside = good. City men = worthless, "beta" males who can't do basic stuff and don't work out but countryside sheriffs = alpha males, masculine and fit. City girls = ungrateful and spoiled, countryside girls = grateful and down to earth. Seems very black and white logic, very conservative and at a lot of moments it felt shallow and preachy (teaching the girls a lesson about how we should be grateful that someone brought us food because of our pure heart? It felt like a child's storytelling book). Then the whole "Indian" and "pronouns" thing, it just feels shallow! This is my problem with this show, it tries so hard to appeal to a certain demographic that its delivery ends up being almost fake and pretentious, like the script is written according the what that certain audience wants to see and hear. Anyways, again, this just isn't for me and I totally recognise that there are a lot of people out there who'll love this. It's also really well-filmed. I just can't watch a show with preachy stuff like that, I can't close my eyes and I don't have to.

Hooked say no more another Sheridan master piece

I love Taylor Sheridan's work but I was so disappointed with The Madison. It started well in episode 1 but for me it went downhill after that with the characters being very dislikable and the storyline being dreary and depressing without any lightness for balance. I watched it all hoping it would improve but it didn't and so I sadly can't recommend it.
